Happy February! New month means new quote on the Earwolf calendar. Anyone remember when Jason Mantzoukas said this gem on How Did This Get Made?
You ever get smacked upside the head with a moment of pure clarity where you realize exactly what you need to do? That happened to me recently when I was working on a submission for Earwolf’s Logo Contest for the How Did This Get Made? podcast. My first crack at a design was alright; I was trying to go for something more graphic and symbolic. I didnt love it, but it came out alright. I don’t know what it was, maybe it was seeing other submissions, but I realized my strength doesnt lie with creating clever graphics or stuff like that. I draw people, and I love doing it. So I took another shot that played to my strengths more and I think I made a logo that was a little more exciting looking. I dont know if I’ll win or not, but whatever; going forward I’ll have a better idea of the kind of work I should make.
