Here’s the final animation for Andrew Lloyd Webber and that incorrigible little orphan Fourvel from the “Time Bobby” episode of Comedy Bang Bang! It is so funny and great and still my favorite! To see this animation bigger, click here!
ALSO, the legend of musical theatre is appearing on CBB TV tonight! I hope he enjoys his animation AND his night on television.
I ended up running out of time for color if I wanted something ready to post tonight, so I decided to experiment with making it look kind of old-timey instead. I’m still open to coloring it traditionally, though!
so as per usual i was giving the comedy bang bang podcast a listen, specifically, the bobby moynihan and paul f. thompkins episode when i hear the best character ever to come out of comedy bang bang!… FOURVEL! which is like fivel but one less!.. seriously, the funniest thing ever
I LOVE THIS!! My friend Kirsten Lepore is working on a new stop-motion animated film and a bunch of us got together and designed puppet extras for her. Looks like little ol’ Fourvel is making a cameo! I built the skeleton and head for this guy but she finished him up (i.e. 90% of the work) and, I have to say, did a MUCH better job than I ever could have done. SO CUTE. Can’t wait to see him move!

My wife got me this customizable “ransom note” coffee mug for my birthday (which is tomorrow) and suggested I put a quote that I can’t stop saying around the house in my best Fourvel voice. (And it does work well on a coffee mug too. Get on my nerves before I have 2 cups of coffee and I’ll get stabby.)
I thought about modeling the legend of musical theatre and little Fourvel’s potential benefactor after the actual guy for about 2 seconds, but… Come on. I think we all know who pulls this look off better than anyone.
Coming up next: More Fourvel! More not-so-sketchy Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber! Lord/Orphan INTERACTING? Maybe! (Definitely!) God bless Comedy Bang Bang for providing us with these amazing characters.
A helpful mnemonic device from Comedy Bang Bang ep. 150.
K = Kid; he’s a kid
N = Naughty; he’s a naughty kid
I = I am the person who will grab the knife
F = Friend; he’s not our friend
E = Education (or, Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge)
G = Gadzooks! I’m terrified of this little child who is going to stab me with the knife!
R = Really? Don’t you think it’s time you grabbed the knife?
A = A shame it would be, should the boy grab the knife first, then stab us!
B = Boy
